Rooted in practice, grown through experience

Leadership Workshops that cultivate the leaders your organisation actually needs

We don't teach theory from slides. We dig into the real tensions, decisions, and conversations that shape how people lead — then we practise them together until they stick.

Plant your next leader

Four roots of lasting leadership growth

Every workshop follows this proven sequence. It is not a lecture — it is a living process that mirrors how leadership actually develops in the real world.

1

Unearth

We begin by surfacing the hidden assumptions, habits, and blind spots that shape how you currently lead. Through guided reflection and honest peer dialogue, participants discover what is actually driving their decisions — not what they think is driving them. This stage often produces the most powerful breakthroughs because it challenges comfortable narratives.

2

Nourish

We introduce frameworks that are practical, not academic. Each concept is drawn from behavioural science, adaptive leadership research, and the lived experience of facilitators who have led teams through genuine complexity. Participants receive tools they can use in their very next meeting.

3

Cultivate

This is where the real work happens. Through role-play scenarios, live case studies drawn from your industry, and structured feedback rounds, participants practise new behaviours in a safe but challenging environment. Mistakes are encouraged — they are the richest soil for growth.

4

Harvest

Every participant leaves with a personal leadership action plan, an accountability partner, and a follow-up check-in schedule. We measure outcomes at 30, 60, and 90 days to ensure the workshop produces lasting behavioural change, not just a temporary high.

Choose the depth that fits your team

From half-day intensives to multi-week immersions, every format is designed around your context, not a generic curriculum.

Portrait of the lead facilitator in a bright workshop environment

Dr. Maren Holt

Founder and lead facilitator

Maren spent fifteen years leading cross-functional teams in mining, healthcare, and government before founding Leadership Roots. She holds a doctorate in organisational psychology from the University of Sydney and has facilitated over 300 workshops across Australia and Southeast Asia.

Her approach is direct, warm, and occasionally uncomfortable — because real growth rarely happens in the comfort zone. Participants consistently describe her as the facilitator who finally made leadership development feel relevant to their actual job.

When she is not in a workshop room, Maren tends a native garden in Owen-Macdonaldport and mentors young women entering leadership roles in regional NSW communities.

Before you decide

Our workshops serve three primary audiences: emerging leaders stepping into their first management role, mid-career managers who feel stuck or overwhelmed, and senior executives who want to recalibrate how they lead. We tailor content and case studies to match the seniority level and industry of each cohort, so a workshop for frontline supervisors in logistics looks very different from one for hospital department heads.
Absolutely. We deliver on-site across New South Wales and can travel nationally for groups of ten or more. We also have a dedicated workshop space in Owen-Macdonaldport if you prefer to take your team off-site for deeper immersion. Virtual delivery is available for geographically dispersed teams, though we find in-person formats produce stronger outcomes for experiential exercises.
We use a combination of pre- and post-workshop self-assessments, 360-degree feedback from direct reports and managers, and structured check-ins at 30, 60, and 90 days. For the Canopy programme, we also track team engagement scores and promotion rates over 18 months. You receive a detailed impact report with anonymised data so you can demonstrate return on investment to your board or executive team.
Most leadership programmes deliver information. Ours delivers practice. At least sixty per cent of workshop time is spent in active exercises — role-plays, live coaching, scenario simulations — not listening to presentations. We also refuse to use generic case studies. Before every engagement, we interview stakeholders in your organisation to build scenarios that reflect your actual challenges, culture, and language. The result is learning that transfers immediately because participants have already rehearsed it in context.
Pricing depends on format, group size, and customisation level. As a guide, the Seedling sprint starts from $3,200 plus GST for groups up to 15, and the Deep roots intensive ranges from $8,500 to $14,000 depending on scope. The Canopy programme is quoted individually after a scoping conversation. We are happy to provide a detailed proposal once we understand your needs — just reach out through the form below.
